Early Detection and Intervention for the Prevention of Psychosis (EDIPP) and Ventura Intervention and Prevention Services (VIPS) is an intervention program designed to delay or prevent the onset of a psychotic disorder. VIPS has a clinical team trained to assess and treat young people experiencing the early warning signs of psychosis. The team assists young people and their families to build coping skills, increase communication, reduce stress, and increase performance in all areas of the young person’s life. The team educates community members about the early warning signs of psychosis, provides referral information, conducts assessments designed to identify risk for psychosis, and provides individualized treatment for the young person and his/her family.
